Not been to those beaches near Yangon yet - apart from the horrible journey to get there (crap road so I'm told) - they are easily accessable (no permits needed like the Mergui Archipelago). They are on the list for next trip.

I've been to Chuang Tha a couple of times and loved it. Not the greatest beach but a great atmosphere with the Yangon middle classes (?) on holiday.
Road is fine, took an overnight bus getting there and daytime bus on the trip back (was a tourist bus so no dealing with sacks of rice/animals, etc)
