    Options for TG saving

Say they have a few hundred k thb saved and want to stick a few k every month away, what saving options do they have? Is it best just stick in the bank. Do they even offer separate savings account where you can tie up your money for 12/24 months for better interest rate? Or do they have any other saving products available?

TG saving money ... come on K1 thats never happened!

Just hypothetically speaking if a TG had saved money then there are a variety of better yielding products they could park their money in. Most of the big banks offer a stock market related investment (tracker) funds, bond fund etc and then there are time deposits that give more interest the longer the period you park your money for.

Well she says she has a few thousand baht saved up and doesn't know what to do with it. Her mate is trying to convince her to become some sales rep for vitamins or some bull. Sounds very much like a pyramid scheme so was trying to steer her to just sticking it in the bank and forgetting about it. One that earns a bit of interest preferably. Or just buy some gold with it, seems like that's the norm for lots of thais with surplus bht. She even asked about going to a Rich Dad Poor Dad seminar FFS... my guess it will be all gone by year end.

most banks offer fixed term deposit accounts, usually 3 months up to 24 months. Interest rate between 2-3%. Bank staff will usually try to sell you into other products...

LOS is becoming one of the last bastions for pyramid scheme promoters.
Also bank loans for fanciful loans for businesses in "tourist areas" (often aggregated with other unrelated borrowers with cross guarantees).
Why? = only the attractive ones because the lenders will know their borrowers can always sell their pus*y if the payments are lagging.

Thais exploit Thais worse than any falang ever did.
Sipping from the Fountain of Youth that is Thailand.
