Bangkok Bank Account Opening for Tourists

Don't know if the regulations have changed but as you can see from BKK Bank own website they are providing a Savings Account with Debit Card for people on tourist visas

    Here is the link

They are the biggest Thai bank. Plenty branches throughout Thailand, not sure how they compare to the others in terms of services etc. I've only ever been with Kasikorn myself

I would think areas of interest for most foreigners are atm facilities, online banking, debit card facilities, interest if any and charges

I found bangkok bank to be a pain in the arse.. First answer was always no.. And back then even though other branches did my branch refused me internet banking without a work permit..

I have found kasikorn to be consistently the easiest and with the best set of services (net banking, phone banking, android and iPhone apps, etc etc).

I also like Kasikorn for the day to day banking stuff.I also find their exchange rate better for international transfers.

But for my seasoning of money for retirement visa, Bangkok bank offered the best term deposit 2 years running.

This year I am with Krungsri for term.

I have found the service in all 3 about the same

I find the service in Siam Commercial Bank better than Bangkok Bank......also very easy internet banking and top ups on your phone (free).
