Hiring Unit: 1 Position (Full Time)
Under the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) Programme [LOA] No.07, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD) had been signed the agreement to implement of a Cambodia Climate Change with respect to project entitled “Mainstreaming Climate Change in Education (MCCE)” for period of 3 years (2015-2018).
Scope of Work/Description of Services to be Performed
The project coordinator is works closely with national and sub-national level of the project implementers and he/she also is under the supervision of project manager and project director.
Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that project activities, outputs, outcomes and impacts are achieved as planned and targeted, by utilizing resources in an efficient, effective and transparent manner.
  • Oversee and manage project implementation, monitor work progresses and risks, and ensure timely delivery of outputs, outcomes and impacts.
  • Produce quarterly project progress report and final report to be submitted to management and donors, namely GSSD/CCCA.
  • Provide the technical supports to conduct Vulnerability Assessment, preferably VRA and to establish Eco-schools.
  • Support the management to develop training manuals, curriculum and mainstreaming climate change, gender and disaster risk reduction into education sector.
  • Provide technical advices to management and implement the project activities including reasons for delays, if any, and recommendations on necessary improvements.
  • Coordinate CCCA donors or other missions as requested by donors.
  • Other tasks will be assigned by the management.

Required Skills and Experience
Education

  • Minimum of a master’s degree or equivalent in project management, development management, or related field demonstrably relevant to the position.

Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in conducting project management, monitoring and evaluation, climate change projects in the field of climate change, development planning,* and or a related field;
  • Good experience in project coordination, team work and project/programme management, as well as capacity development.
  • Desire experiences in development of educational training manuals and curriculum.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of climate change adaptation and/or mitigation approaches and related monitoring and evaluation tools. Knowledge of community-based approaches will be an asset.

Competencies

  • Strong technical background and proven competency in environmental management system, climate change, development planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting, or related areas;
  • Excellent English report writing skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with developing country government agencies and NGOs, as well as communities and vulnerable groups;
  • Computer literate (MS Office package).

Language Requirement

  • English, working knowledge of Khmer is an asset.
