The Sam Veasna Centre for Wildlife Conservation (SVC) is seeking an experienced Cambodian professional for the role of Managing Director (MD) to lead the organization through an exciting period of growth and beyond. SVC runs specialised birding and wildlife tours in Cambodia working closely with key communities in important natural areas. The funds generated from ecotourism go back into community development, conservation projects and ecotourism development. SVC has a goal to significantly grow operations by 2020 by launching a range of new ‘wildlife and nature’ products to compliment current bird watching tours. SVC will also need new systems and processes to support the sustainable growth of the business and to significantly increase the skills and capacity of the SVC team.
Position:* Managing Director
Location:* Siem Reap province
Main Duties:

  • Responsible for the overall performance of SVC ensuring it is a sustainable ecotourism agency that provides ongoing revenue for community development and conservation programs
  • At least 5 years experience managing a small to medium-sized tourism or related enterprise in Cambodia
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Expertise in management and administration
  • Strong competencies are also required in HR, problem solving and mediation, financial management, process and business development, and marketing.
  • The successful candidate should be passionate about conservation and committed to working with poor rural communities.
  • Further their sustainable development while having the highest levels of accountability and honesty.
