Violence erupted Tuesday morning in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district between garment factory workers, who have been protesting for months over wages and factory conditions, and security forces, leaving several people injured and police vehicles destroyed. Hundreds of garment workers from the S.L. Garment factory were attempting to march to Prime Minister Hun Sen’s residence in the city when riot police blocked their route.
