Anti-human-trafficking police on Monday arrested a 35-year-old U.S. national and director of an evangelical Christian group in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district, though they would not reveal what crime the American was suspected of having committed. Local news website Cambodia Express News reported that the suspect, Daniel Johnson, was arrested at 9 a.m. at the Home of Hope orphanage in Sansam Kosal village in Boeng Tumpong commune following a joint operation involving police and the U.S.’ Federal Bureau of Investigation.
