Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday met with Chen Fengxiang, a vice minister of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee, to discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Mr. Hun Sen’s spokesman, Eang Sophalleth, said the two men discussed general matters, such as Cambodia’s development and political relations between Cambodia and China.
“He [Mr. Hun Sen] said that the cooperation between the two countries must be pushed forward, especially the things that the leaders of the two countries have already agreed on,” Mr. Sophalleth added, without elaborating.
While in Cambodia, Mr. Chen also met with Say Chhum, the vice president of the Senate.
Mr. Sophalleth said the two men discussed how to “push for stronger exchanges to make the CPP and the Chinese Communist Party become closer.”
