Police have arrested a 32-year-old Cambodian man they believe is the killer of Daphna Beerdsen, a 31-year-old Dutch woman found dead in her Phnom Penh home Monday morning.
“We have arrested one guy who committed the murder of the Dutch woman,” said Kirth Chanthirith, National Police spokesman.
“We have confiscated the lady’s bag [from the suspect], including some personal documents belonging to her.”
Mr. Chanthirith said that Phnom Penh penal police made the arrest around 10 p.m. last night in Daun Penh district’s Wat Botum pagoda.
Daphna Beerdsen’s 19-month-old daughter was also found critically injured with serious head injuries at the scene of the crime, and is being treated in Bangkok.
