One of three men suspected of the robbery and murder of a Chinese factory owner was arrested on Tuesday and confessed to the crime, police said Wednesday.
Soy Hean, 23, is accused of stabbing Zhang Li, 43, ten times with scissors at her factory in Choam Chao commune, Pur Senchey district, in Phnom Penh.
Zhang Li ran a small factory that made hats, and was found dead there when workers arrived at about 7 a.m. on May 3.
Police believe Zhang Li was killed after Soy Hean’s cousin identified as Phea, who remains at large, sought revenge after she fired him for stealing. The third suspect, who police have yet to name, is also at large.
“We have arrested one killer but two others are at large …police are searching and plan to arrest them after we got a confession from the first suspect [Tuesday] evening,” deputy municipal police chief Chuon Narin said Wednesday.
