Confusion over Chhouk Bundith’s arrest abounded Wednesday, as a local news outlet reported that the former Bavet City governor had been arrested in Mondolkiri prov*ince, a claim that an official at the Interior Ministry later denied. At around 3 p.m., Cambodia Ex*press News (CEN) reported that Chhouk Bundith, who was sentenced to 18 months in jail on June 25 for shooting and injuring three factory workers, had been arrested in Mondolkiri province, citing an unnamed court official in Svay Rieng province. Cambodia Herald, a sister news outlet of CEN, said the information came from provincial prosecutor Hing Bunchea.
