User opinions on what the forum needs..

Now I think the forum is pretty well set up and hosted.. Things seem to be working fine and I have done some SEO mods.

What does the forum need or what would you like to see installed. Or what could be configured differently ?? How about the forum sections ??

So far theres been a request for a chat section, a horse porn section (we all know who), etc etc.. I know some more smilies and would not go amiss..

Suggestions listened to. Trying to get a feel for others perspectives and input.

We already have that Uby... though maybe this thread should be in there if we are discussing things like that... 55

What about a newbie section to attract new users... with an explanation of what the forum is about and who is it for? ie. Is this forum's target audience all of Asia, or just SE Asia, or just a general forum on any topic?

Not all that have joined will know who is who as most of you seem to know each other.
    A section for new people.
I was told about this forum from another forum said it would be a wealth of info.

Also if you don't mind me saying, someone needs to go into the back end and change posting to newest first as this way is a little strange.

You can change the order of posts... go to "Settings" at the top of this page...

Then "General Settings" on the left hand side...

Then scroll down to "Thread Display Options"

Under Thread Display Mode - you can choose...

eg. Linear - Oldest First, Linear - Newest First, Threaded, Hybrid

Here you can choose the display mode for threads. For a full explanation of the modes, please view

    No ??
Default sort order in forum manager from memory should be descending...Most likely will be set to ascending.

Maybe a jokes section wouldn't go a miss.

More bubbles, xanex, and PM/gold-silver threads please?

Conspiracy threads may be found everywhere on the net but true open discussion is far more interesting and informative. Nit-picking of MSM finance related articles is good for forum health.
    Cheers, Rob.

Ohhh and I vote for a free for all section. One with no moderation (or only very very very little). If any threads get sidetracked and BMs getting heated or flaming each other it can just be moved there. I thought that's what PI really needed when a few of the 'controversial' threads got wiped.

Yeah I have seen that done with good effect.. a 'bear pit' or 'fight club' forum... where things can go to die..

No mate..... it invariably takes me to the last page, not the last post I had read.... I just tried it then on a thread I hadn't looked at and it took me to the last page

I just double checked and it did the same.... hadn't read a post in a thread yet it took me to the last posting

This is already there for me.... you mean the little tab buttons etc? If you go into "Settings" and then General Settings... scroll down to Miscellaneous Options... and select Enhanced Interface.

    Miscellaneous Options

    Message Editor Interface:
    • Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing

    • Basic Editor - A simple text box
    • Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls

That works....sort of. If I click 'new posts' I see what is new....however, if I don't read any of them, it assumes that I DID, so those 'new posts' are gone even though I didn't read any of them.
I think it should list 'latest posts' instead, and not have them highlighted after they are read. Does that make sense? Like P-I. I'm not nit picking....you asked.555

    By the way, great work.
