    Goodbye Dad Peace At Last

The phone call I got last week filled me with dread, it was my mum saying get here fast if you want to see your dad one last time. Sadly I didn't make it and he died yesterday with me due to fly home on Wednesday.

After suffering with Alzheimer for over 3 years this was more of a release than a death. None the less I am devastated.

RIP Dad, you were the best.

sad mate.....but under those circumstances the best outcome

I can say that (in retrospect) because I had an almost identical situation with my mother

Deepest condolence !! Not sure what else to say, but i am sure it was better than the condition he was in. Had the same with my dad, did not want him to suffer anymore.

At that point that is usually the case, but still hard for the surviving family. Sorry to hear that you did not get home in time.

Condolences. I remember watching my dad and his brothers struggle when my grandfather had Alzheimers. It is a very cruel disease.
