    Sailing

    Does anyone go sailing here?

I've sorta joined a sailing club here in Vancouver
I sailed for about a year in Maine way back when I was 19yrs old in prep school.
    Decent boat too....36 foot

I basically joined to just get on the water
Night cruises are 89cad each time
Once I am all certified I can rent their 24ft for 200cad/day

But the cool thing is their trips
They do 5-7 day trips around Gulf Islands here
But also do a bunch of bid trips to British Virgin Islands and such
3kcad all in for 2 weeks

See how it goes. If I like it will do a full membership next season but should be certified by then

I love sailing.. Beats power boats by miles for me..

    Sailing

My dad and I joined a sailing club in San Diego. We went out at least once a month and got qualified on a number of boats at the club. We mostly went out on the little Victory 21s, but were also qualified for the Catalina 27, Catalina 29 and Ericsson 32. Then we moved up to the Willamette Valley in Oregon, where good sailing was scarce.

These days when I'm out in the water, I'm on my way to a dive site. I was up in the San Juan Islands a couple weeks ago, and will be diving in Howe Sound next weekend on the newly sunken artificial reef, the Annapolis..
