    Patong or Las Vegas?

Sitting at a restaurant in Vegas last night and discussing the similarities.

Lots of sexily dressed young ladies
    People watchers paradise
    Many bars and drinking spots
    Great variety of food
    Lots of Neon lights
    Grid locked traffic

Love Vegas but a week is enough,
We can easily live in Patong and do for part of the year

What do you prefer and why?
Is there another place that has as interesting night life?

I went to Vegas about five years ago , wasn't really a fan

Have you thought about trying Macau , I haven't been , but looks like the best of both worlds

if someone is a young guy, LV all the way
especially now that they have the daytime pool parties, they are absolutely off the hook!

as for nightlife, i know it is because i have been going more now, but don't think you can beat Latin America because they have real good set ups with places all situated around a plaza/park
Parque Lleras in Medellin is the best nightlife area i have ever experienced, hands down
all in one place, great restaurants, bars, clubs, or you can just buy a drink/beer and sit in the park and hang out

I've been to Vegas a few times on business, and really am not a fan. A couple of days and I'm ready to leave.

That's a great comp Slampay. You've got to enjoy that. Looking out the window overlooking the Bellagio fountain and lake at the moment and it does look magnificent.
October will be a bit cooler, a man could get up a sweat just raisng a glass here today.

Can see right down the strip and one things Americans do better than most places I have been and that is get out of the way of a vehicle with siren. No fuss, they just all pull left or right and get out of the way. Bit of a contrast Thailand and Australia and NZ.

Sounds great Marc26 but a long way for us to go. Has it got the sexiness and sleaze that both Patong and Las Vegas have?
Being a bit older, well ancient really but we keep kidding ourselves, we are not into drinking a lot but enjoy a nice erotic atmosphere.

If you are young and have a sh!t load of money, (or older with BOATLOADS of money) Vegas is the place. For just about everyone else, I think Phuket would be the place you would have the most fun.
    Almost apples and oranges.

you don't need boatloads of money to have a good time there if you are with a group of friends
last time we were there, we had about 10 guys
got a table at Palms Ghostbar and 3 bottles of vodka and about 10-15 beers
came to about 150/each which gave us an awesome table with tons of room to hang out, VIP access to all the clubs( got into Rain skipping a 300 person line to see Paul Oakenfield)

that is 4500baht and people spend that easy on Bangla in a night

but the key is to have at least 4-6 guys and sharing bottle service is reasonable

If you are alone, It is much easier to have a good (great) time in Patong than Vegas, IMO......on much less money.

I went to Vegas with an ex... gotta admit, I had a great time, but man did I burn through money there... tourist attractions in the day, shows every night, meals at all the trendy places to eat and of course, alcohol... was easily burning through $400-$500/day. Had an awesome time, and everyone should do Vegas once or twice in their life, but yeah, it was an expensive place.

Even on my wildest nights, which all happened in Pattaya long ago, I didnt spend anywhere near what I spent in Vegas. In Patong, I dont think I've ever really had a really crazy night... the kind where ya wake up with 2 girls that you cant remember and a near death hangover. Whereas I had several of those in Patts early on in my Thai experience. Doubtful that I ever even spent $250 on a night out in Patong.

I still have a soft spot for Phnom Penh... first time I went there was with Nels and he took me around to 104 street and I remember literally being mobbed by girls. I didnt know what to expect, so it really had an impact when every girl in the bar yelled "Helllloooo" and quickly moved to grope me. If you're measuring strictly by the fun-for-dollars ratio, I think PP has gotta be tops in the rankings. I've had long nights of drinking and fun that ended in good private sessions and still didn't spend $100. Hell, if I'm being honest, I've had nights where I drank a little, chose a gal and went back to the room early for fun and still didn't spend $50. Imo, best value city would have to go to PP.

i think Vegas, as a couple, is very expensive
getting there and staying is very cheap. 2 of us flights/Manadarin for 3 nights is 1200 and if i wanted to stay in a 3 star(which aren't bad) i could do it for 600total
but as a couple with dinners/shows it does get expensive

only way it is reasonable if you go with a group of friends

Also, factor in the price if you want to pay for some private entertainment. Easily 3-10 times as much in Vegas.
Or the strip clubs....one lap dance 20 bucks or more, after paying an entrance fee. A guy can easily go through 500-1000 bucks in an evening at one of those joints.

    LOL!!
Bill I'm sure you remember my buddy Donny? You teased him mercilessly when he paid 4k for a fl'er a few years ago?

    Well........

We went to the hard rock casino for a few days a few years before that. We were well and cashed up! I left him one afternoon at a strip club across the street. (I was heading to one of the pool party's Paul spoke about).

About 4 hours later, he shows up at our suite, and his face is pale..."WTF dude, you look like hell?"....

He had been roped into the champagne room with 3 girls. His cc bill was....:

    $5000 United States Dollars!!! 555555555555

Two Hours of lap dances, rubbing his knob, and NOT even getting laid!.....He still can't talk about it!5555

Even better still, insult to injury...Snoop Dogg, the Black Eyed Peas and Fat Joe were staying on the same floor as us, a later in the night (morning) all the same strippers (+ many, many more) were running up and down the hall naked, and giving it away for free!!!5555

    Whew.....good times...
