    Logging off

The time has come and I'm off to Koh Phayam to open up for the season. So I'm not going to be very active on the forum until April next year. Will try to log inn and have a look every now and then, but I normally don't have much spare time on my hands.
So you are blessed with 6 months without my drunken posts and negative input about Thailand, the land of smiles.
If anybody want to come up and see me on Koh Phayam, you can reach me on facebook (Geir Vale or Hells Bells Bar & BBQ) or phone 0870713695. E.mail: post@phayam-guesthouse.com...... I will also check my pm's on this forum every now and then.
If I have the time I will try to post some updates about the island, but knowing myself and how busy I will be serving Leos and Black Deaths I'm not sure if it's going to happen.

Anyway, wish you all a good "high season" and a great time wherever you are in the world.

    Cheers
    Geir

Hope you have a great high season Geir ... if you make enough money, you could get a smart(?)phone and then you'd still be able to make drunken posts after 42 Leo's

What are transport options like from Phuket? I have a couple of days in hand, is it practical to get there for 2 nights or not?

Not sure how practical it is, but it's buses going from Phuket town. You can leave Phuket 8ish in the morning and arrive in Ranong for the 2pm ferry. There are later speed boats, but I'm not sure about the times for this season yet.....normally the late speed boat is 5pm.
The bus from Phuket town is normally 5 hours. Taxi takes about 4 hours and cost about 4k Baht.

Yes if you live up the other end (i.e kamala, surin etc) you can also catch the bus from the monument - apparently there is also a bus to Samui as well

Is it more backpackers ? diving crowd ? on Koh Phayam....never been there

It used to be more backpackers, but it's getting much better now. We get a mix of divers, families, older coupples and party people. Think most places is getting to expensive for the lower end backpackers. It's hard to find rooms for 200 Baht a night these days. Loads of decent rooms from 4-800 Baht tho.

Good luck mate hope all goes well.

May even pop up and see you, though I will have Alex in tow so it would only be for a short trip.

I see that Nok Air have have started with 2 daily flights to Ranong from Bangkok now, this will make it much easier to travel to your island.
