Even if its just to earn a buck, how can any human do this???

Strangely I do not condemn the eating of dog meat, humans around the world seem to eat anything that moves, my outrage is more the way they are being treated, being taken to market, the 'lets get them stressed, makes the meat taste better' is appalling, feck its all appalling, and feck you Slammers for posting this, its got me all riled up now!!!!
Custard should be a colour...cos I could then paint over the mess I've just made!!!

    Q. "When they arrive in Vietnam, the suffering doesn't end there. A common belief is that stress and fear releases hormones that improve the taste of the meat, so the dogs are placed in stress cages that restrict their movement.Q."

Having had some experience preparing animals for market for us to eat (sheep, cattle) this flies in the face of all scientific evidence that stress, particularly prior to killing causes tough meat.
If I wanted a lamb or hogget for my family, I would
    (a) never kill one straight after shearing
    (b) put a group into a pen, let them settle, walk quietly in and slit the selected one's throat.

With cattle - put a few in the yard, again let them settle then shoot one.

Maybe the VC like tough meat - like Thai farm "chickens"?

Yeah this is grim.. I too cannot condem eating the meat but the way they are treated is barbaric.. I have read they sometimes skin them alive as the pain is supposed to help the flavor.

I have the local cm dog rescue in my Facebook feed and have donated a few times.. The dogs they rescue from this, and then find homes for, just heart breakers..

If you read the article, you know that they mention about skinning them alive. In front of the other condemned dogs. More stress, more taste. Smh....

And cheers for giving towards the dog rescue.

Never understood why eating people is taboo. Removing that psychological barrier would solve hunger and overpopulation in one fell swoop.
