The party for the closing of Mai Thai Bar will be this Monday 24th June.
Ead says there will be food and a 'show'.
Hope to see a few faces of friends of MTB.

I'm gonna make my own thread, with Blackjack and Hookers!
^ maybe a former HB`s "girl" has been recruited for the show!
Hope it goes well.
Wasn't Lucy (wonkyeye) supposed to take over the new lease??? Will it still be called MTB??
Anyway, enjoy the last night and have one for me in memory of Nicke.
Not sure on the name, I know Nicke was adamant he would not sell the name, when he sold the bar, but now?????
Custard should be a colour...cos I could then paint over the mess I've just made!!!
Did he really sell the bar? Thought he just let the lease go out and Lucy got the new contract???
Yeah probably you are right. Just remember him telling me he wouldn't sell the name with it.

Hope its a night worthy of Nicke's memory - enjoy!
Its My Life .....!
really is an end of an era, lots of happy memories as well as rescent sad ones, Hope its a send off that Nicke would be proud of.
As for the show do you think it might be the last return of the milk man?
My last visit was a few weeks before Nicke's passing but will back in town tomorrow.
End of an era![]()
Those who will be attending maybe can take some pictures of the end of an era.
Stress is when you wake up screaming realizing you weren't sleeping.
I am kinda conflicted about how to feel. On one hand I am sad not to be there for the last Big Bang but on the other hand I am happy that I am not there to see MTB laid to rest.
I think its a great idea to host a party to celebrate 13/14 years of good times - particularly fond for me was the Xmas party of 2003, where if my aging memory serves me correctly there were about 50-60 BMs in town, all at the MTB
It was packed back in the days. Nicke and I was comparing takings and he beat me most nights. 20-40K was normal back then and only the street bars on Bangla could beat it.
I remember he said his best day was just 100K, while mine was "only" 68k.
Have to say I miss that time and all the friends we made.
ps. don't think it's wrong to mention numbers, as it's just a reference to how busy the bar scene was back then (it was successful bars even in today's dead sois)
Back then you could easy make 100k profit a month......high season up to 300K........low season......30-50K
Not sure if I would survive with today's type of tourists. What made the big days was people going nuts competing ringing the bell 5555 (don't see Arabs or Ruskies doing it)
Yeah, we was doing 30/70 on alcohol in Love Bar in good months, but had to arrest the staff every now and then to keep up that figures........ Spirits/shots was always the best. Ohhhh, and owners drinking the profit 555
Did 70/30 in costs include your fixed things ?? rents and key money over term ???
