    Wind ups..

I actually was watching this the other night in real time.. It was being posted to a fight group I follow as he was pushing the windup..

This joker managed to talk a seller into cutting up aa sofa she was selling as he wanted a '3 piece suite'.. It went on from there..

    FFS.
To be fair, the suite looked fit for the dump anyway.

About 10 years ago when people actually still advertised things for sale in a newspaper, I ran across a add for someone offering a 'coffee cup warmer' for something like $2. It was slow at work and being a car guy we take any opportunity to stroke civilians...payback.

Me and a partner had to call.

Me: "hi, I'm calling about you coffee warmer, is it still available?"
Him: "ya, I still got it".

Me: "is it in, uh, good shape?"
    Him: "yep, almost new"

Me: "ok. ok...your asking 2 dollars, are flexible?"
Him: "wtf is your problem? It's only 2 dolllars!!"

Me: "sorry bro, I'm very interested....what color is it?"
    Him: "brown"

Me: "hmmm...do you have a blue one?" (At this point I'm deserving an oscar)
    Him: "no! It's brown!"

    Me: "do you deliver?"
    Him: phone slams down....

When I was early teens a new model of advertizing came about.. long before ebay and net was the way it is.. Free classifed ads and they sold the paper.. I think one of the first was 'loot' but in the south west UK the one that blew up huge was trade-it.. And if you were a car guy, a bit of a hustler type, liked a deal etc.. the early monring purchase of that twice a week was a game of hunt the deal.. The things I bought and sold (30 canoes for 30 quid each sold one at a time at 100.. Cars galore.. Etc etc)..

But the flip side was.. If someone pissed you off.. Or childish quiet vengence was needed.. All kinds of games could be played.. The pretend divorcee selling her soon to be ex husbands 911 for 500 quid pre settlement out of spite, put in for the next 16 weeks rotating advert would basically destroy someones mobile number, back when you couldnt get a pay as you go.. etc etc etc..

I get the feeling she knew it was a wind up and decided to play along...
