I was born in the UK and lived there until I was 28, I don't feel like I have a home now, I've lived in Gibraltar, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Thailand and now Panama, nowhere feels like home, even when...
It might be slightly off topic, but I have a mate here in Panama who has a Thai girlfriend, he spent lots of money and time trying to get her over here, lawyers, shit to do in Bangkok etc, just...
Is it that German bloke?
Decent start from England, poor from the Ozzies, so far 100-5 as I right this. Long way to go though.
I have Sturridge as Captain, not quite as good, but scores every week. Need an Aguero hat trick tomorrow!
I had 2 telephone interviews before going, the 7 on Monday weren't exactly interviews as such, more of a meet and greet with the team, no questions or technical stuff.
It felt much more "International" to be honest, Ex-Pats everywhere, I guess most of them work there, a lot of the UK banks are moving there Call Centre's there and Makati is full of International...
I've been here 2 days now, looks like a great place, Makati reminds me of Singapore, lots of big shopping Malls, not as clean as SG but greener than I expected, some very nice areas. I also went into...
I arrived in Manila a couple of hours ago after a long long journey from Panama, through Amsterdam with a short stop in Taipei and then onto Manila. Haven't got the energy to go out and explore this...
I lost 1st place through neglect, I will be back!
Flights booked for next Wednesday, Panama > Amsterdam > Taiwan > Manila and back on the Tuesday, hell of a journey, 25 hours in the air, but I'm not paying so can't complain too much and I'll be...
Will do Nels, should be over there around 3rd/4th October for a week. I know very little about it but am trying to do some research beforehand. One thing I do know is, it's a ballache to get to from...
They're going to fly me out there for a week to have a look around, at least it's a free week away if nothing else!
Haha, miles away!
Yeah, I think you're right Nels, the company is mainly run by Brits too so there will be a big ex-pat contingent, which always helps in moves like this.
I'd be sad to leave Panama though!
Thanks all, they're going to fly me out there for a week to have a look around before making a decision, so that should help, I also have a couple of mates who work in the same company, so I think...
Thanks Steve, I must see 12 guns a day here in Panama so it sounds like it wouldn't be much different!
Hello Folks,
Looking very likely that I'll have to make a decision whether to leave Panama and go to Makati City in the next few weeks, new job, better money etc...
Any advice?
I fancy it, I...
That looks VERY nice mate!
Must just be me then, but I would....
I just signed up...
Very true, much better temperature in places like Boquete, but you soon get used to it in Panama City, 30-35 degrees all year round, just don't walk too far!
Boquete has a lot of retired ex-pats, as does places like Pedasi, Coronado and Las Tablas. If I didn't need to work, I wouldn't dream of living in Panama City.
I'm hoping to find a remote working...
Incredible story that, thanks for sharing!
