Fifa rotten to the core, I doubt anyone remotely near the top has anything like clean hands.

I hope its going to be the start of an all new FIFA, however only time will tell. We could get someone worse, I think a lot more people need to leave or get pushed out before things get better.. This is a good start.

6 months is long enough for everyone with dirty hands to get cited.
The US is mightily pyzzed off about their rejected bid(s) and the money laundering in USD.
I don't follow soccer (except World Cups) but I'm a sports fan and former administrator and FIFA is a cancer on world sport.

Black smoke rises from the back of FIFA HQ indicating the ceremonial burning of the documents.

Personally I think mainly the US doesnt want Russia to keep the world cup and getting rid of Blatter is a first step towards making that happen. Also he knew once the FBI were involved his card was marked, probably made more sense to jump than risk the wrath of the FBI?!?

Might be worth a little flutter....

Odds issued by Betfair have slashed the odds of Qatar being stripped of the tournament to 9/4 from 4/1. England to host the 2018 tournament are now 12/1.

Would like to see both of them lose their world cups under the circumstances

....and if anyone could eat an apple through a tennis racket

Qatar and Russia should be stripped of the World Cup - Telegraph

Is this a Thai-style coup by Blatter where he will delay elections for his successor by ten years and promise to selectively rid the football world of corruption...?

I was at the World cup in Japan and the Japanese supporters were great, dressing up in the jerseys if whoever was playing and getting their faces painted. I have a photo of them in with all the Irish fans with their green jerseys on. One of my favorite memories from that trip is when all the Irish supporters started heading for the coaches to take us to a crucial game against Germany, it was about 5pm and eush hour was well underway, it was quite a sight with hundreds of green jerseys and the Japanese taking photos on their phones and cheering us on
