    Sad Super Bowl story...

    The Super Bowl.

This older gentleman had 50 yard line tickets for the Super Bowl

As he sat down, he noticed that the seat next to him was empty. He asked the man on the other side of the empty seat whether anyone was sitting there.

“No,” the man replied, The seat is empty.”

“This is incredible” said the first man. “Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the world and not use it?

The Second man replied, “Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This will be the first Super Bowl we haven’t been together since we go married in 1967.”

“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. That’s terrible. But, couldn’t you find someone else – a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?”

The man shook his head. “No, They’re all at the funeral.”

but Fox News constantly tells us we are the greatest country in the world, so our biggest sporting event has to be the biggest in the world, no? 555

Same as the World series baseball, who else in the world (ok besides Canada) competes?, always get a chuckle out of that one. 55

    Just seen online..

I just think it’s rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby

As I stated once in a forum before: if any rugby players were good enough they would play American football. Why? About 10X the earnings of those other rugby and rugby type sports.
Obviously the author of that quote never has played the sport.

I know nothing about rugby or football, bur aren't you supposed to test the same way in studies? Seems flawed to me.

NFL may be more about power and impact... but rugby is about variation in skills. I can hardly think of any area of the skillset that is the same? The tackling is totally different. NFL is one hard hit... whereas in rugby you can be hit repeatedly for longer.... Two different sports that can't really be compared. I'd love for the US never to have invented their form of football... and have taken up Rugby Union instead. Would have been awesome...

Gotta admit, it would've been interesting if there was no NFL and the US did the rugby thing.

That said... if, if, if... if my aunt had a d!ck, she'd be my uncle.

If a rugby (league) player made 18 hits in a game, he wouldn't have a job, decent players make 30-40 per game, seems a pretty ridiculous comparison, as great dane and waharoa say not an easy comparison or fair + the rugby players were yanks (soft) , not even Kiwis or Aussie, 555 (that would be a different test all together)
