I'll be in Thailand for most of the first round so will probably not get to see a lot of it, seems to be a bit of controversy over what they're charging the bars to show it anyway even though it'll be on overnight for a lot of games.

Yup. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to Brussels for a week on the 26/6. I see that will be a good day.

The two I'll be checking on the 26th.

    USA v Germany
    Korea v Belguim.

This is going to be tough watching from Thailand. Trying to figure out which games I'll watch late and which ones I'll get up early for. And don't they have three timezones in Brazil as well?

As there are no Scandinavian teams, my heart will be with Brazil (1) and Holland (2) for sure. And then also cheering for the US (3). With Spain in a distant fourth.

Stickman wrote that it is a strict bar closing day in LOS the day of the WC final

Vancouver is a great place to watch the WC...so diverse you get so many people rooting for different teams

I don't think Stickman is correct.
The Final is at 2AM on July 14 and the Semi Final is 3AM on July 13 THAI time.
The pre-election is Sunday July 13 and as such bar closure will start 6PM on July 12 and technically for 36 hours (till 6AM on July 13).
The past few election, however, the bar closure in most areas were lifted shortly after the poll closings (6PM on Sunday July 13 in this case).
If that repeats the Finals can be shown live.
The time of Semi Finals will definitely result in a bar closure ..... if the elections indeed are held.
If there are no elections the Semi Finals may still be at risk because 11 and 12 July are Buddhist holidays and it then will be a matter of whether bars are allowed to open after midnight or late evening of July 12.
In Phuket that has been the case the past couple of Buddhist Lent Days, but not everywhere in LOS.

    I did mis-type.
Yes I meant to say 3rd place.
    I will correct.

Ha ha. I know... Have to admit though that I did root for the Swedes as they progressed in the 94 WC.

But was more referring to Danish Dynamite during the 80s and early 90s. Vi er røde, vi er Hvide...Best WC song along with 3 Lions on a Shirt.

The England team have just visited a Brazilian orphanage. "It's heartbreaking to see their sad faces with no hope" said Jose aged 6.

Brasil must be world champion. What a referee, disgusting.
Neymar made 2 goals, but must have been sent of before for that fault where he gave an elbow.
    That penalty, what a joke.
And when Kroatia makes a goal, it is not accepted as Olic would have commited a foul on the keeper. Olic jumped, that keeper can'T even jump, stands like a bag of potatoes on the field.
Also Gustavo should have had red.
With match fixing like that Brasil is certain of thr semi final.
