Again an indifferent New Zealand team have turned up but Tonga have really turned up for this game and are good value to be in it at half time. Unlucky not to have scored a try but with they've a man up for the first ten minutes of the second half.

NZ have taken sleeping tablets too early... so lethargic and half arsed... like they can hardly be bothered to play... no intensity at all... its all very odd.. bit like SA against Japan...
NZ 2nd best for 60 mins then a few changes and whoosh a different game.
They still don't impress somehow and their scrum needs serious work if they are going to come out top over the likes of SA and France.
Fair play to Tonga, they came to play and would have given a lot of sides trouble.
Ref JP Doyl failed Tonga badly by not awarding a penalty try just before HT. Read dragged down a maul and was rightly carded, so why no try? After that, 2 more scrum penalties on the 5 metre line for AB infringements and still no penalty try? Strange.

Yes, I'd have given a penalty try. The scrum was a worry... though thinking about it... they handled Argentina ok a couple of weeks ago... and a few months ago were ok against SA and Australia. I just hope they raise the intensity earlier in the game.... else it may be harder to chase games against France or Ireland next round...
I hope France win on Sunday as the Irish scrum isn't going to be much different to NZs.... and they have never beaten NZ...
Here ya go, just for a laugh...

THE HOOF
I may be tempting fate but even if Ireland do lose on Sunday I think it looks like a great time to play New Zealand. They just aren't firing yet...
I'll remind you of this in a week... 55
Will be interesting to see if NZ go up a level in the knockout games... I'll be surprised if they don't...
I'm in two minds about France and Ireland. If NZ get France I think they'll be more on edge, more focussed, more determined to get the job done. Ireland theoretically will be easier as they have never beaten NZ, but at the same time NZ might be complacent...
France started off slow in the last World cup too and we beat them at home. I don't think they're crap and we have an awful World cup record against them. I actually quite like the new centre pairing but it could be a little light against Basterau. Although most other centres are light compared to him.
