Thai sex industry under fire from tourism minister, police

    Oh yeah.. sure !!!

Thai sex industry under fire from tourism minister, police | Reuters

Tourism Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul played down the role of the sex industry in drawing visitors.

"Tourists don't come to Thailand for such a thing. They come here for our beautiful culture," Kobkarn told Reuters.

"We want Thailand to be about quality tourism. We want the sex industry gone," she said.

    ^The stumbling block...

"If they want to close the sex industry, they must first have jobs ready to support sex workers," said Surang.

A vast majority of people that go would never go to the p4p areas.
Out of all the people I know in real life that went to Thailand not one of them was involved
One of my customers is in Karon now with his wife and 2 kids

Yes, exactly! Just like the awesome job they are doing at Kata Noi beach, removing all the chairs, setting up a single row of tatty beach umbrellas and turning the lifeguard stand "back to nature".

Or the beachfront drive along Kalim...this is the "before" photo and now it is all lined by concrete highway dividers, I will try to take an "after" pic tomorrow, really sad (yes the sand sweeps up during a storm in low season but these look permanent now and kills the awesome view while driving past!!).

It's 24 and sunny here today
And since I live in a sensible city I think I will take a bike ride and rent a beach chair later and order food and read my book on the beach! 555
