    New Old Tiger (Patong)

Don't think I've read that the old (burned) Tiger is now back open and open air with about 4-5 bars from what I could tell. Very flashy.

Damnit, don't say things like that. You are making other members jealous - I will have to wait two hours before heading for the airport.

I have drunk at two bars there - Bar Funk 3; which is great, but the security guards don't like you taking photographs of the pole dancers at Crazy Horse Circus from there; and Crazy Horse Circus which would be fine except the beer isn't particularly cold, the pole at cray horse is 5 metres above the stage, so it can look spectacular. The bars at the front are comfortable because, although under cover, it feels like you are drinking in the open. There are 3 or 4 bars under the 1st floor, but haven't tried those. Gone is the cave/jungle theme to the old place. The sides are now decorated with traditional Thai dancers carved in relief of the walls with some nice lighting. Same prices as Tiger across the way. With this place opening, the bars on the front of bangla on the other side of the ski that leads to chiengrai seafood are just about dead.

3 PM tomorrow - in Bangkok. I will celebrate new years eve in Bangkok and hopefully get out of town (January 2nd) before the lunatics blocks everything.

I'll be in Phuket early morning. Not sure if I'd risk Bangkok for new years. I'll see how you go and will give it a bash next year 555
