    Songkran 1998

Just scanning some old pictures in and they seem to be coming out ok. This, songkran 1998 ( I think 98, could have been 99 ) would have been one of my first Thailand trips.

This one is looking down Rathutit from opposite Bangla, you can see the PS hotel in the background.

This one was taken on Bangla from around the Blue Lotus. The cop in the road walked from one end of Bangla to the other, complete with real gun.
Bangla again with the Blue Lotus in the picture. So, so pleased to have this pic. The Blue Lotus has survived and every time I get there it's a majory nostalgia trip.

I think it was you that told me that Jungceylon was the biggest building site in Asia at the time. I thought it would never get finished, now look at it.

That first trip at Christmas 97 was a game changer for me, I'd been to the Florida Keys a year or two before but have hardly been anywhere else since. Even when I went to Australia it was a stopover in Bangkok on the way out and a week in Phuket on the way home

Think my first visit was 1997 , the Royal Yacht Britannia was anchored off Patong beach.

I wonder if there'd be any reminiscing to be done about Patong 15 years from now.

I realised it wasn't you, it was Terry from TJs Monkey Ba, and I thought the same thing; there must have been an airport on the go at the same time.

Ahh ol Tel.. He burnt his bridges leaving IIRC.

I was accidentally responsible via a gogo girl I was friendly with, the catalyst of him changing the monkey bar into the winchester.
