I lived in Rawai for around 6 months a few years back and yes it was a lot of similar faces night after night, I did however enjoy the laid back feel of the place and never encountered the Muay Thai crowd. Nai Harn and the small beach past the hotel were my favourite 2 beaches on Phuket.
