Are Bangkok bars closed tonight? March 22nd

I was just told that bars would be closed tonight for election stuff (or maybe something else)...I haven't seen anything regarding tonight but admit I haven't been looking really. Any truth to the rumor?

    Cheers!

They are in Phuket (and tomorrow) for election pre-voting.
Rinse and repeat next weekend for regular voting (whether anyone turns up or not)!

As this is the National election it probably applies to all regions who did not complete voting last try.

Try Patpong - or PM Geespot.

This is a national election ?? I must have missed major news..

Patong is having an election for mayor.. Pian got knocked out for vote buying but only get yellow carded, so can run again..

But national ?? They only just announced the previous one was annulled days ago.. I cant imagine a national election anytime soon.. Theres even a question if it will be in the constitution 60 days as its now longer than that since she disbanded.

Four Saturday night Phuket booze bans in sight as elections loom

In related news, there will be a by-election for the Patong Mayor in Phuket on Saturday 26th April 2014. So, there will be an alcohol ban in this beach resort city from Friday night at 6 p.m. to midnight on the day of the election.

Check the date of the article !

It is an old article referring to the "then" upcoming elections , recent court decision may have changed the situation.

“We will not re-open candidate registration. According to election law, if we re-open registration, the previous election would be void, which means we would be forced to have a new national election,” said Mr Kittipong. - See more at: Four Saturday night Phuket booze bans in sight as elections loom

I suppose the fact that my household received electoral commission notices a week or so ago advising of the the requirement to vote this weekend (pre-voting for those out of their home province) or next would not have any impact on your theories?

You Faulty do realize that there are two separate national elections?
One for the lower house and one for the Senate - not held on the same day.

And this is the Senate Election which is not subject to any recent Court decision?
And your last quote refers to re-registration of MP candidates from the semi-aborted lower house election(s).

    I await your reply...

I just saw a couple of pickups with a full on disco in the back and birds hanging off the sides doing the beach road / 2nd road loop. They obviously didn't get the memo! 555

    WTF?!

The information I posted about the Senate elections has not changed.

You were barking up the wrong tree Faulty and just can't admit you were wrong.

I was correct in the fact that it was an old article.

I didn't say the information was wrong , I said "recent court decision may have changed the situation."

Here is an article posted yesterday , not 1 month ago !
