    Patong Pharmacy - WTF?

Steroids and rohypnol over the counter. Is this normal and me being dumb? I had no idea those things were so easily available.

that's a bit of a beat up......Viagra + Kamagra tablets + gels, valium, zolam and alprazolam are available at a wide variety of pharmacies...possibly even rohypnol....which is what they say they seized in the raid

all are probably being sold against the law but I would say you can get most of that lot in about half of the pharmacist self owned (non-chain) pharmacies

Well its not over the counter legally, hence him being busted, but yes many pharmacies do under the counter for all kinds of things which are prescription only in the west..

In fact prescriptions themselves are all a bit strange here, because its almost always a doctors and pharmacy combined, I get a doctor in the hospital to write a prescription to buy some specific allergy stuff my missus needs, and every time its like he doesnt know how to write it, and the pharmacy doesnt really know what to look for or trust it. One pharmacy even refused to sell xanex when it was on a listed prescription from the hospital and I had to go back to the hospital pharmacy to get it.

Many pharmacies close to the body builder gyms are easy on the steroid and HGH issue, years back one even used to give the injections in the back room of the pharmacy I was told.

Wonder why this poor guy got singled out given they could just walk into almost any Patong pharmacy and find the same.

^ must have been a slow day 555

This is so typical of policing here though....nothing is done about crime unless someone isn't paying up, someone does something right under the nose of the police and they can't ignore it or an order comes from on high to bust someone for a "flavour of the month" then call the press for some publicity

I am assuming this unlucky dude falls into the last category

There is even more available in Cambo. Stillnox, codeine, and a few other things easily purchased in PP, or so I was told.
They even have Happy Pizza in some of the pizza shops on and near Sisowath Quay. I didn't believe it so I had to try it for myself. It is the real deal.

I actually kept meaning to stock up on some emergency pain killers for a jungle medical kit.. Hydrocodiene and the kind of emergency shit you can take to deal with a broken limb a long way from medical care.

I think all the PP downtown happy pizza places are no longer how there were.. Wouldnt surprise me in Sihanoukville but I think the city kind of cleared up from being on the menu.

^the price was unreal. Small pizza $3. I ate about 75% of it......and that turned out to be too much by about half.
There is a half block of these places, just before the FCC, and a couple around the corner. Their names: Happy Pizza,
Herb Pizza, most Happy Pizza and a few others . The place a tuk tuk driver took me was around the corner called Happiness Pizza. We'll worth the three bucks.

I'm not sure about Rohypnol but most pharmacies sell sleeping pills, same same? The ones I have are called Codiphen and are great for long plane journeys.

yes I have clocked these joints as I walk by..kinda thought they may have just been leftover names from when they did offer such delights....so great to know Bill....I might just get "happy" next time I am over

Not sure they all offer the 'happy' pizza, but I am certain of the one I visited.
Very much of a delayed reaction, but I did notice a couple of tuk tuk drivers having a laugh as I was leaving.

Yeah I too was under the impression it was legacy names, and there had been some form of clean up.. Seems not and good to know the world isnt becoming too sanitized.

I have seen some older photos from when they would sell great big bags of weed in the central market.. Not old decades old only old 03 04 kind of old..

I have even bought prescripted relaxants inside the airport for a long haul flight. Its not many pharmacies that play by the rules here. I had a mate visiting a while ago.. who is a bit of a pillfreak.. I believe he said 9 out of 10 will sell.

Ao's back hurt when we were in Kanchanaburi
We went to pharamcy, expecting they would give her some kind of over the counter back pain

He readily went to a very out in the open box of muscle relaxers and i was phsyced
And believe me, they worked..........took 2 and gulped a couple of beers and was feeling real good
I was surprised they give them OTC

Not surprised by viagra or xanex but rohypnol? Gee, how many uses can there be for that? Why would a qualified pharmacist want to put that in the hands of anyone??
