There was lots going on in March too. Driving up that soi i was dreading it as seemed like every building was under some sort of contruction. But tbh, I hardly ever heard anything in my room. Certainly nothing to distrub my sleep.
The sister hotel, Sea Me Spring Too. I never knew if that was some ironic joke or just a typo.
Thanks for the assist! It's been a while since I've been down there, so I got the soi wrong. Still, a decent place to stay on a smaller budget. The soi is much quieter than soi Diana or LK, but still just 5 minutes away from all that... or an easy stroll to beach rd & hop a baht bus down to WS. It's a good location...
Ye agreed it's a good soi, also has a few other hotels, including Dynasty Inn and also has the Sportsmans Pub
I went down Soi 10 on my bike the other day. Top end at 2nd road is fine now, all building work complete. Down the beach end only one are of building work as I said previously next to Sea Me
Checked the Inn house out on booking.com and it's 473 Euro for 9 nights over chrimbo, nearly half the price of Tims, that New Year gala ball certainly bumps the price up. Looks very decent too for the price.
I am probably going to go on my next trip in early Jan. Miss the Christmas rush in Samui but it'll still be ok busy. I spent Jan there last year. Probably my fav time for a trip. Shite weather and long nights where I am also in Jan.
Not to be repatedBeen a long time since we fell off bikes together![]()
But that said whats the best place around Christmas if any at that time ??
Nobody is a social drinker. Everybody drinks to get drunk. I mean, nobody drinks 10 pints of coke in a night
Looks like winter shut down will be in full effect this year and maybe even start early... if so, should mean that I'm in Thailand from about mid Dec through end of Feb. Looking forward to doing quite a lot of riding in that time... maybe do a Laos ride and try to organize a Vietnam ride... I know Sef has been there... you up for another run, man?
I've decided not to go at Christmas this year, flights just were too expensive even staying in cheaper accommodation, decided instead to go on a big trip next June instead and use the money I'm not spending at Christmas to book an early business class flight for about 1700 euro, I'm the big 40 next year so may as well give myself a nice gift.
You are doing exactly the same as a friend of mine, he is not allowed to fly anymore, he is lucky that he is still alive.
Preventing DVT When You Travel | Health | Patient.co.uk
How can I reduce the risk of travel-related deep vein thrombosis?
Whilst travelling on a long journey, particularly on a long-haul plane trip:
- Exercise your calf and foot muscles regularly:
- Every half hour or so, bend and straighten your legs, feet and toes when you are seated.
- Press the balls of your feet down hard against the floor or foot rest every so often. This helps to increase the blood flow in your legs.
- Take a walk up and down the aisle every hour or so, when the aircraft crew say it is safe to do so.
- Make sure you have as much space as possible in front of you for your legs to move. So avoid having bags under the seat in front of you, and recline your seat where possible.
- Take all opportunities to get up to stretch your legs, when there are stops in your journey.
- Drink plenty of water to avoid a lack of fluid in the body (dehydration).
- Do not drink too much alcohol. (Alcohol can cause dehydration and immobility.)
- Do not take sleeping tablets, which cause immobility.
I go see my parents about once per year back in Florida. They're getting older, so it's the law that they have to live in Florida.
I think if it started going more than a year, they might start questioning it, but they wouldnt be offended per se. I think getting offended wouldnt start until about 2 years had gone by. They also know that for tax reasons, I can only spend a very limited amount of time stateside... and I try to undercut that amount by at least 10 days, just in case of emergency; either one of them having a medical issue, or work saying "we need you to visit the HQ office in Tennessee and there's no avoiding it". So because I keep some time set aside for that, I am rarely in the states for more than 3 weeks per year.
It's a birthday treat, have you ever been business class? Once you go and get a taste for it then it's always in your mind how much better your trip could have been. The valium I popped last time from Abu Dhabi to Dublin didn't stop any amount of out of control kids ruining that flight.
