    Loy Krathong 2014 Dates

Anyone have definitive dates for Loy Krathong this year?

Loi Krathong - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia says Friday 7th November, and also what Phuket based websites list.

Yee Ping (Loy Kratong) Festival - Chaing Mai lists Chiang Mai as Oct 25th (Thai one) or 8th Nov (tourist one)

Loy Krathong Festival, November 5, 6 and 7, 2014 | Chiang Mai A La Carte Tours and Loy Krathong, Yee Peng, the Festival of Lights in Thailand | Chiang Mai Best both list 5th, 6th and 7th of November for Chiang Mai

The full moon is consistently listed as the 6th November so it seems any travel dates around then will be busy.

Yee Peng is the weekend a full week before LK (not the weekend before if that makes sense) so that makes perfect sense if LK is 5 - 7

It's highly suggested that you stay there before and after the full moon as well as the confirmed festival dates, so that's be from the 5th to the 8th of November.

Quick video of the beach stage performers tonight (I'm guessing they'll do today, and tomorrow for the official date).

Always end up smiling watching them do their traditional dance - seems so happy and peaceful Not so sure about the singing though, haven't got used to that yet 555.

I know a site that provide the exact information, but admin will disallow me posting a link.
On the contrary anyone but me should be free to do so.
Odd concept, but rules are rules.

Or, you could just post the information here and share with everyone. You seem to keep making a big fuss over this at every opportunity.

    Phuket - today (6th) - it's on the bank's calendar - the full moon.
Haircut, nails clipped, money given (1 baht) and banana leaves selected.

Not unusual for some centres to pick a more commercially appropriate date - although a busy non-weekend night makes more sense.
Sipping from the Fountain of Youth that is Thailand.

The information is not static, if not tied to a lunar calendar it would be simple.
That said I could reply in kind as to the big fuss, because I have indeed asked that before.
I keep several boards updated with one click and this one has to be "special".
Do I care? Only slightly but do find it interesting when prominent members here reference my calendar, yet is taboo.
Yes, I do take opportunities to make a fuss, but only because it is amusing.
Only this board and TV frown on links that is dynamically updated as the dates changes ... might there be a common denominator.

Any pics? Always liked LK as a festival, nice ambience and meaning to it.

    Close, but good enough.
I do not think Google actually provides any information (aside from subdomains), but rather it links to sites that match a search criterion.

    Google does help though.
Typically in a one week period on or before a bar closure day that one page gets 1-2,000 unique views per day as opposed to about 100 on other days.
