Claiming accident insurance in Chiang Mai

I recently got knocked off my bike ( guy opened his car door without looking)

Heere is the procedure for claiming medical expenses.

The compulsory insurance you pay when you renew your road tax covers you for accidents.

To claim you need a copy of the police accident report.

    your green book

    Passport

Your receipts from hospital for treatment and medications.

There is a specific office that deals with claims,it is on a slip road to the super highway almost opposite the Lanna Hospital
It is shown on Google Maps.

I found the easiest way to access this is coming from the centre of CM you take the road north from the the NE corner of the moat.
its Atsadthon Rd take it to the supper HWY and turn left, about 500meters along there is a 7/11,park there.
The office is 2 doors to the right.

There is nothing in English telling you thats the place ( I tried a few insurance companies till I found this).

The place had no customers the staff were very friendly and the re-inbursed my medical expenses in CASH after about ten minutes

I hope no BM ever needs this info.

The compulsory only covers 15k medical tho no ??

Also pays when you are totally at fault yourself. I remember having 15k discounted from my shoulder plate surgery, when someone ran around and got the police report.

Thanks Ian a sore back for a couple of weeks and cut up a bit,as accidents go this would be minor.

@LIL they had a list of payments in the office,I did not read it closely, there were amounts for death, loss of limbs,
20 days expenses for I guess loss of income. a few different categories.

As the insurance premium is minimal,I suppose the payouts are too.

I was reading a thread somewhere that LOS is a dangerous place,I am sure can't be true,555

I have had it twice.. Both times 15k max and paid direct to the hospital handled by the hospitals billing dept.

Didnt know it went up for more grievous injury etc.
