    i week holiday,NOT IN THAILAND

After an enjoyable trip in nov/dec with mates in phuket/chiang mai next sunday i am going to mexico

playa del carmen will be the base, booked a junior suite in a boutique (5555) hotel just off the main strip

direct flight from gatwick to cancun ( 9 hours ish both legs) then it will be a half hour taxi to playa
i will be taking a laptop with me so look forward to posting pics of decent food ,beer, tequila and hopefully some pics of big fish if the trips i booked work out.
temperature over there is about 25-28 degrees this time of year with a few showers most days, not been since 2001,but loved the place back then,
might even visit some mayan sites as well

will keep you all posted ,maybe 55555

If there is a good local area in Cancun, go eat there
Some awesome tacquerias that are cheap as chips in Mexico..

I really like old town in Puerto Vallarta
There was a tacqueria there I had to walk the other way just to avoid or I'd eat it 3 times a day!
6 tacos, 2 beers all about 200 baht!!

Well i have been back from playa for a few days now and i must say i did enjoy it immensely ,weather was perfect for all bit one morning a vey pleasent 26-29 c all week with low humidity so did not get the attack of the big sweats like in phuket.
The food over there is great, ceviche (raw shrimp, fish or octopus marinated in lime juice with chopped tomato ,onion and coriander, really good beef steaks, freshly made corn tortillas, fresh tuna steaks and lobster.
favourite places included Club de la Cerveza, Playa del Carmen, Mexico a br stocking around 90 beers from mexica and around the world and Restaurante La Cueva del Chango, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo a small ,fantastic little garden restaurant with resident wild iguanas scooting about.
One fishing trip resulted in a couple of fair sized barracuda, most of the trip was spent just relaxing by the carribbean sea on white sand (with lounger and umberella 5555) there are a few big clubs there for the youth and loyyyts of medium /small bars to people watch and sink ice cold beer,
flights were direct to cancun with british airways from gatwick and they were on time, flight length was 10.5 hours there and 9 hours back, pretty easy to do in a day. here's some bad picks of general boring stuff.
